# Remap

> Remap generates cycling, running and walking routes that start and finish at the same place, and trips from a start to a destination, split into days. A route has a target distance or duration and optional climbing and scenery. Remap generates the routes on the person’s device, in the Remap map.

Remap does not route driving.

## MCP server

- [Remap MCP server](https://go.remap.earth/mcp): Streamable HTTP, no sign in. Tools: generate_routes and find_place.
- [Server card](https://go.remap.earth/mcp/server-card)
- Hosts that show MCP Apps (ChatGPT, Claude) show the routes on an interactive map; other hosts get a link that opens them in Remap.

## Link without MCP

Without an MCP connection, give the person a link. Opening it generates the routes in Remap:

https://go.remap.earth/mcp/link?sport=running&distance=5&start=Victoria%20Park%2C%20London

Its query parameters are generate_routes’ arguments:

- sport (required): cycling, running, walking.
- start: Where the route starts and finishes, as place text (a town, park, street or address). Or lng and lat, the start’s longitude and latitude in degrees. Give one or the other, never both.
- distance: Target distance of the whole route; for a trip to a destination, the longest day. distance_unit: Unit of distance: km or mi. Defaults to km.
- duration_minutes: Target duration in minutes, instead of a distance; for a trip, the longest day. Give a distance or a duration, never both; with neither, Remap picks a usual length for the sport.
- climbing (flat, balanced, hilly): flat avoids hills, balanced neither seeks nor avoids them, hilly looks for climbs.
- environments, comma separated: Scenery to favour where the area has it. forest: through forest; parks: through parks and nature reserves; waterside: along rivers, canals and lakes; coast: along the coastline; climbs: over hills worth climbing; quiet_streets: through calm residential streets and lanes; long_stretches: along long, quiet, uninterrupted stretches; cycle_routes: following signed cycle routes (cycling only).
- destination: Where a trip ends, as place text. With a destination Remap plans a trip from the start to it, split into days, and climbing and scenery do not apply. Or dest_lng and dest_lat. Give one or the other, never both.

The link needs a start. Never guess where the person is: ask for a place, or use coordinates they gave.
